Dressing A Showcase in Stone

Materiality plays a big role in the functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic of public and private spaces for home, culture, and play. Designing a Coverings’16 Showcase was an opportunity to play with material goods, disrupt the norm, and highlight stone products to reflect a sense of place and playful spirit in a boutique hotel lobby.

Building a multifamily “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children demonstrates the importance of building a sense of community through support, socialization, and shared experience.

Pied-à-terre Home in the Sky

A pied-à-terre was transformed into a sophisticated Michigan Avenue “family’s home away from home”.  A Great Room was designed with style and grace, which speaks of comfort and family. The Master Bedroom Suite features custom silk bedding, drapery and furniture – all revolving around relaxing, reading and resting. For visiting grandkids, two are bunked with style and sophistication, perfect for either gender of visiting children.
